The Rest On The Way spiritist centre begun with the first gospel study meeting, at the residence of Sobek de Alcântara and Regina Yamagusi, on March 4th of the year 2000. Adepts of the spiritist doctrine for many years, the couple had just arrived in Toronto and with the incentive of two close friends, sympathizers of the doctrine, decided to plant that first seed in canadian soil.
With several years of practice in perispiritual treatment, in spiritist centres in Brazilia (Brazil), the couple started providing help through magnetic passes and fluidified water to an ever growing audience that came to participate in the gospel study meetings.
WIth the guidance of Sobek’s spiritual mentor, who’s been accompanying him since his first spiritual treatments in Brazil, we were told that in the spiritual realm our group was named Rest On The Way. What had started with gospel study meetings at home was now getting more and more structured and finally consolidated as Rest On The Way spiritist centre.
Thus with the help of friends and frequent visitors, our activities expanded throughout the years being the Perispiritual Treatment and the Remote Treatment our main focus. Our group has helped patients not only in Toronto, but other provinces in Canada as well as other countries (Portugal, Japan, United States of America, England and Brazil). Besides the treatments our group also took on the mission of spreading the knowledge in Canada about the teachings codified by Allan Kardec by means of meetings open to the general public as well as focused study groups.
Currently our centre has, as it’s spiritual mentor, Dr. Philips whose friendly guidance and advices have helped us proceed with our activities of charity and support to all the people who come to us looking for the spiritist doctrine, the relief promised by our master Jesus Christ.
